Las sociedades contemporáneas atravesadas por crisis económicas, políticas y sociales. han evidenciado que las migraciones internacionales han cambiado de paradigma pasando de una unidireccionalidad marcada por la migración sur-norte a una perspectiva multidireccional.

En este contexto, Europa y América Latina se presentan como dos escenarios privilegiados a la hora de vislumbrar el desarrollo de estos procesos. Por un lado, en Europa, la crisis económica de 2008 ha generado un recorte en las políticas públicas sociales que han repercutido directamente en los migrantes.

The Governance of cultural diversity is a key issue for contemporary Europe. Accommodating
increased cultural diversity by balancing the recognition of differences with the promotion of equal participation in the common public sphere is a task that will, for the foreseeable future, be with us to say. Within the framework of the Multilevel Governance of Cultural Diversity in a comparative perspective, the current Summer School will analyses the political models of integration of migrants and minorities, addressing the debate between assimilationism and multiculturalism in Europe and Latin America. During the Summer School, the state of art and the multidisciplinary theoretical framework for the overall research program will be discussed. The first Summer School will also represent a first step towards the launching of common comparative researches.
